Hawkeye Helicopter is owned and operated by John D. Scott. Mr. Scott has logged over 24,000 hrs of flight time. J.D. began his aviation career as a National Guard mechanic on the CH-54 SkyCrane and spent one year in the Air National Guard where he served on the flight line for the F105 Thunderchief. He attended Spartan Aeronautical school in 1975 and started flying pipeline patrols in 1979. In 1995, he started his own operation with one single-engine Cessna accompanied by a small two-seat Hughes helicopter. Over the course of 14 years, Hawkeye has seen steady and dramatic growth, and now operates a fleet of 14 aircraft. The company currently has on staff 17 personnel and accounts for a substantial portion of all aerial patrols in the Midwest.
